The lodges may look and feel remote but fine dining, delightful country pubs and characterful coffee shops are easily reached by car. Here's a few of our immediate favourites:
The Fairfax Arms in nearby Gilling East is a traditional country pub owned by the same family as the Studford Lodges. As part of your stay, you will be offered a free chauffeur service to take you to the Fairfax for evening meals. The pub is just a few minutes drive from the lodges and offers an extensive menu featuring wholesome home-cooked food and daily specials at reasonable prices. Your driver will drop you off in time for your booking and drive you back to your lodge at the end of the evening.
White Swan in Ampleforth
The White Swan in Ampleforth is a friendly and relaxed pub offering the choice between more formal fine dining and food served from the bar in front of an open fire. We also run the free taxi service from to and from The white Swan.
White Horse Inn
The White Horse Inn, also in Ampleforth, is a former 18th Century coaching inn with log fires, oak beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, candlelit tables and a warm friendly atmosphere.
