About Studford Luxury Lodges
Studford Luxury Lodges is an independent, family-run retreat nestled in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. Owned and operated by the Fawcett family, who have deep roots in the local area, Studford is part of a family business built around a genuine love of hospitality. The family are also the proud owners of the much-acclaimed White Swan in nearby Ampleforth.
A Vision Born from Nature
Brothers Rob and Ed Fawcett had a vision to transform part of their private woodland into something truly special — a collection of luxurious, individually designed lodges that would offer guests the chance to escape, unwind and reconnect with nature.
The decision to build the lodges on stilts was inspired by a desire to make the most of their spectacular woodland setting, creating far-reaching views across the surrounding forest while allowing each lodge to sit harmoniously amongst the trees.
Every lodge has been thoughtfully designed to combine contemporary luxury with natural tranquillity. Open-plan living spaces, private hot tubs and saunas create the perfect setting for relaxing and spending quality time together, while the surrounding woodland provides a peaceful backdrop throughout your stay.
Planning permission was granted by the North York Moors National Park Authority in May 2012, with construction beginning the following year. From the outset, sustainability was an important part of the vision. The lodges were built to the highest standards using sustainably sourced timber and are heated by a central biomass boiler, providing eco-friendly underfloor heating and hot water throughout.
Today, Studford offers a rare combination of seclusion, sustainability and indulgence — a truly unique woodland escape in the heart of North Yorkshire.

Ed Fawcett
Owner
Ed lives locally in Helmsley and is very much at the heart of Studford's day-to-day operation. Hands-on and approachable, he oversees all aspects of the business and is regularly onsite, supporting the team and helping guests whenever needed.
Rob Fawcett
Owner
Based in the beautiful countryside of Northamptonshire, Rob makes the journey to Studford most weeks to lend a hand and stay closely involved in the business. Alongside Ed, he continues to play an active role in the ongoing development of Studford.

Charlotte
Office Manager
Charlotte keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, managing the office Monday to Friday and playing an important role in creating a seamless guest experience. From coordinating the day-to-day operation, Charlotte's role touches every part of Studford.
John
Maintenance
John is onsite every day, keeping the lodges in perfect working order and taking care of everything from general maintenance to our much-loved hot tubs. There is very little John can't fix, solve or lend a hand with.
Jo Jo
Head Housekeeper
Jo Jo has been part of Studford from the very beginning and has played a huge role in shaping the experience our guests enjoy today. Leading her fantastic housekeeping team with care and pride, she makes sure every lodge is beautifully clean, perfectly prepared and ready to welcome each new arrival.
It is this combination of family ownership, dedicated people and genuine attention to detail that makes Studford what it is today.
